ABOUT ME
Creativity has always been a part of my life. When I was younger, you would find me performing dances or coloring every surface in sight. The idea of bringing joy and vibrance into someone's life has always been one of my goals.
For the past three years, I have pushed that creativity at La Roche University in Pittsburgh, PA. Majoring in Interior Design with a minor in marketing has challenged me to learn more about the creative industry and what I am capable of. When I started this journey, I had no idea I would fall in love with interior design this much. Rather than complaining about the workload, I would love to have a new project to work on, either individually or in a group.
Being introduced into this creative field by professors and advisors, I have created a better appreciation for old and new architecture and design.
THE STEEL CITY
I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I grew up learning that nothing should be handed to me and that if I want something I have to earn it. I have had numerous jobs that taught me that, along with it being passed down from my parents. Pittsburgh has taught me that hard work is valued, family comes first, and that no matter where I go, I'll always have a Terrible Towel in my hand.
WHY INTERIOR DESIGN
There are many perceptions of the term interior design. But to me, interior design is all about creating a space that is a perfect balance between function and aesthetics. This combination is the key to understanding how a space will communicate to every person who interacts with it.
Each person has some sort of interaction with a building or a space everyday. Whether it be their home, their office, or their school, everyone is influenced by the architecture and design that is around them. And whether realized or not, their emotions are dictated by the environment they are in. One of the ideas I love most about this field is that I get to control the vibe and the feel of the space, and hopefully, inspire the next person to live a well and balanced life.
